Sheryl Davis and Sherry Davis

Twin sisters Sheryl and Sherry Davis are emerging music heritage preservationists impassioned to assist non-profit organizations and other community groups in discovering, preserving and successfully stewarding the special places that tell the story of their musical heritage. Their first visit to the Surf Ballroom in February 2016 for the Winter Dance Party was a pilgrimage that has been in the making since childhood. The Surf Speaks, the sisters' first collaborative effort in preservation, was born out of their lifelong affinity for 1950s rock and roll and a genuine admiration for the stories of three visionary artists, their music and a place that encapsulates the national spirit they personified.

Sheryl and Sherry bring both shared and individual abilities to The Surf Speaks project, creating two halves of the "Twinstorians" team. While Sheryl tends to focus primarily on music history's built heritage, Sherry concentrates on preserving the genre through its human footprint (ie. artist biographies, music in social context, fandom storytelling, narrative histories). Her academic and experiential background in music, the social sciences and communication design informs her unique approach to audience development. Sherry also works in the classical genre as author of The Chronicles of a Modern-Day Mozartian. To learn more, visit SherryDavis.org.
